ATI Industrial Automation has developed the NF12, a new Non-Contact Inductive Coupler pass-through module for ATI Standard Series Robotic Tool Changers. The NF12 Master Module will inductively provide power through an air gap to the NF12 Tool Module to power up to twelve (12) sensors. In turn, the NF12 Tool Module will transmit signals from the sensors inductively to the NF12 Master Module through the air gap. The NF12 Master Module is powered on the robot-side with 24VDC power.
The NF12 is capable of transmitting 12VDC power for up to 12 discrete PNP DC 3-wire sensors via custom-designed, inductive couplers. A NPN version of this module is also available. This module has an operational temperature range of 0°-50°C and is IP67-rated for submersion in fresh water to a depth of 1 meter. These features make it ideal for sensor monitoring in harsh or wet environments. The NF12 is environmental and wear-resistant due to lack of physical contact during coupling. It also mounts onto standard ATI Robotic Tool Changers.
