If you are using an operating system other than Windows, you can download a C Library of utility functions and modify it for your application and operating system.
The source code contained in the library was compiled using Borland C++ version 4.51. You will most likely have to change the direct memory access function names if you are using any other development environment.

Note to Linux and other Unix-like OS users:
The Linux functions inpw and outpw take their arguments in the reverse order of their DOS counterparts, so the order of arguments will have to be rearranged.

Upgrading Your ActiveX Driver
Collecting F/T Data Using the New Software
This version of the ActiveX driver supports high-speed throughput with the implementation of a buffered array mode of delivering data. This version of the ActiveX driver requires firmware version v2.05 to be installed in your ATI ISA F/T card. This ActiveX driver has the new event NewBuffer and the new methods SetBuffer, SetArray, ReadBufferedArray and ReadBufferedSafeArray that will allow high-speed data acquisition in Windows. You can find more information on these in the help file ATIACTX.HLP after you install the package.
-
For Windows NT, XP or 2000 you must be logged on as the administrator.
-
Download the zip file containing the setup files
here
-
Extract the zip file that you downloaded. This will create the files 'setup.exe', 'setup.lst' and three '.cab' files
-
Use the Windows "Add/Remove Programs" function in the Control Panel to remove any existing ATI ISA software.
-
For Windows NT or Windows 2000 go to the operating systems' ...\System32\Drivers directory and manually delete the ATIFT36.SYS file.
-
Run the program "setup.exe" that you extracted in step 3. If the program asks if it should replace any files whose name begins with "ATI", answer yes. Please Note: If you receive an "Access Violation" message when the setup program tries to update "msvcrt.dll", You can safely press Ignore. This file may be in use by Windows itself.
-
In Windows 2000/NT/XP, you must be logged on as administrator to edit or add cards to the card list.
-
If you are using Windows 2000/NT/XP, you will need to restart your computer before running the demo. However, if you are not upgrading from a previous version of this software, do not restart yet. Adding cards to the list also requires you to restart, and you will save time by adding cards to the list before restarting and after installing the demo.
-
On your computer's "Start" menu select "Programs", "ATI ISA FT Demo ", "Edit Card List".
-
Fill out the "Add Card" form with the correct information for your installation. This program replaces the ATIFT.INI file used in previous versions. If you are running Windows 2000/NT/XP you will have to restart before you can use the demo program.
-
Your ATI ActiveX driver has been updated. The program "ATI DEMO" has been placed in the "ATI ISA FT Demo" group to allow you to test the new drivers. You can use this program's Tools/Data Collection menu to collect and store transducer data at high speed. You can do this by:
-
Execute "ATIDEMO.EXE".
-
Pull down the "Tools" menu.
-
Select "Data Collection".
-
Hit the "Start" button to begin collecting data, saving it in the file indicated on the form.
-
Hit the "Stop" button to stop collecting data.
