Reliability Engineer
Location: Apex, NC
Job Description
- As part of the Quality Operations reporting structure, this role is responsible for providing technical direction for various aspects of product design testing during the design and development of products. The scope will include developing and executing test methodologies and plans to validate operation and performance of products both during the development phase and throughout the lifecycle of the product.
- Provide a clear design verification testing and automation strategy to the organization.
- Research and deploy the latest technologies and system engineering methods.
- Responsible for selecting the appropriate methods and statistical techniques for design verification.
- Work to ensure that all testing activities are driven by and/or related to customer specifications.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Use real-time data to drive priorities and set goals
- Support existing products through an ongoing process of continuous improvement and engineering changes to enhance performance, longevity, and manufacturability.
- Support customer issues through root cause analysis.
- Build organizational capability through mentoring, development, and training of peers.
- Proactively develop and protect intellectual property using patent disclosures, non-disclosure agreements, patent applications, and other means as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Requirements
- The ideal candidate should have experience with verification of complex electro-mechanical devices used in medical, industrial, automotive, and aerospace robotic applications.
- 7+ years of applicable product development experience with complex industrial products
- Working knowledge of quality system strategies and methods.
- Working knowledge of DOE deployment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Education Requirements
- A BSME is required; an MSME is a plus
- Certified Reliability Engineer a plus
