Controls Engineer
Location: Apex, NC     

Job Description

• Development and continuous improvement of manufacturing and quality test, calibration and production software and control systems:
• Defining project specifications and project lifecycle
• Creating test plans
• Defining database structures for defining test criteria and storing results
• Documenting electrical and controls schematics
• Developing test and calibration software
• Developing intuitive user interfaces and HMI applications
• Control and test system validation
• Creating test instruction and other documentation for operation
• Continuous support and improvement of installed equipment
• Work in collaboration with manufacturing engineering team to solve production issues, efficiency and continuous improvement goals.
• Work with Electrical, Mechanical and Software Design Engineers to implement new calibration software and tests
• Analyze product specifications, firmware and existing test programs to determine test requirements for new product introductions and continuous improvement of existing test systems.
• Implement corrective actions due to internal and customer quality issues
• Participate in product design reviews to ensure manufacturability
• Documentation of test procedures and training test operators/technicians.
• Use failure analysis techniques to proactively determine potential manufacturing issues

    Skills Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Degree with applicable experience
• 3-5 years of Experience in writing test software

    Education Requirements

• Programming experience w/ LabVIEW
• Programming experience in C/C++/C#, Java and PLC Programming is a plus
• Understanding of matrix math and data manipulation
• Working knowledge of industrial fieldbuses, ethernet and serial communication
