AC-180

Straight High-speed deburring
tool
with Integrated Axial
Compliance
The
AC-180 is suited for light and medium effort
deburring of burrs produced by machining operations on objects made
of aluminium, steel and other materials, and burrs on die-cast
objects, fibre- reinforced plastics, etc. The
AC-180 consists of an air driven vane motor and a
rotary file. The file is free to move 8mm in axial direction, by use
of remote controlled air pressure.
In
every practical application of industrial robots there will be a
deviation between the burr edge and the programmed path. This is due
to object tolerances, fixture tolerances, and dynamic robot path
inaccuracies. The AC-180 is designed to take care of just
that inaccuracy, so that the final deburring result will not be
influenced.
The AC-180 is air driven, to take advantage of the
low weight and low volume of air vane motors compared to their power
output. One of the most important features of the AC-180 is
its ability to reach burr edges with difficult access,
such
as internal
burrs.
The patented force control principle gives a very high stiffness in
the path direction, and a low stiffness in contact force direction.
In combination with a low weight of the suspended system, this
avoids chattering and vibrations.
The life length of the 16 mm diameter rotary tungsten carbide files
is proven to be extended by use of the AC-180.
The
tool uses a conical shaped tool, with axial force control.
Compared to common cylindrical shaped robotic tools, the AC-180 will greatly reduce the robot programming time and cycle time.
Few
parts mean a robust design and long lifetime.
