It’s no secret that the folks at ATI are quite enthusiastic about robots. We absolutely LOVE to explore new ways to make them more flexible and productive—no matter the brand, size, or payload. We don’t make robots, but we have to be experts in them to provide the best robotic solutions.

Interviewer: So Evan, tell us about your first experience with robots?
EH: I walked into the Ford Oakville Truck assembly plant and saw robots building trucks and I was hooked, seeing the robots in person as opposed to seeing them on tv or in a movie was so much more captivating.
Interviewer: What do you love about the industry?
EH: I love the robotics and automation industry because we truly do make the world a better place every day—whether that is through our involvement with robotic surgeries, cancer treatment, bomb disposal, the repurposing of workers from dangerous jobs in dangerous environments to safer jobs in healthier environments, improving product quality and throughput, and reducing costs. All of these things and more are what make this industry great and what gives me the drive to do more.
Interviewer: What excites you about the future of robots?
EH: I am very excited about the future of robots, robots are necessary and extremely important to help the world sustain in some ways and grow in others. As the global population increases so will demand for the things that we all require to live our lives. We need robots to safely increase production capacity and the distribution for manufactured goods, food, medical procedures and so much more. I firmly believe that our Force/Torque Sensors are a vital piece of the puzzle that will enable robots to continue to add value by giving robots the “sense of touch and feel” that is needed for so many applications already in existence and for the applications of the future.
