ATI Industrial Automation was recognized by the American Welding Society (AWS) Detroit Section for their active support of the organization. Dave Beneteau, Sr. Past Chairman, AWS Detroit Section Executive Committee presented Catherine Morris, Senior Account Manager for ATI with the award on September 10, 2009. The award was presented at the Technical Meeting and Annual Student Night, which took place at RoMan Engineering Services' new facility in Livonia, MI. Morris states "ATI is very proud to be part of the very strong Detroit Chapter of the American Welding Society. We have been happy to give of our time to assist with their commitment to providing scholarships to deserving students to advance the art and science of welding." Tom Slawnyk, Account Manager for ATI was recently appointed to the position of Social Activities Chairman for the AWS Detroit Section Executive Committee.

The AWS Detroit Section is made up of volunteers including equipment users, equipment suppliers, equipment builders, and experts in the fields of arc welding, and related processes. The Detroit section of AWS supports colleges, universities, and local schools with literature, scholarships, and technical support.
