ATI Industrial Automation has developed an IP68-rated Six-Axis Force/Torque Sensor that can be used for underwater testing at depths of up to 4 meters in fresh water. Recurring customer interest in underwater force measurement applications ultimately led ATI to develop the Nano25 IP68 Sensor. A recent application uses the sensor in an ultrasound water bath to test mechanical properties of gel materials that simulate soft tissue.

The Nano25 IP68 is one of the smallest multi-axis force transducers in the world, measuring only 1.1 inches in diameter and weighing only 0.3 lbs. Other features include hardened stainless steel construction, overload protection and high signal-to-noise ratio.
