ATI Tool Changer on Display at Oregon Museum of Science & Industry

ATI is supporting the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry by contributing robotic tool changers to a new exhibit that opens this Fall. ATI's QC-20 model is attached to a robotic arm provided by Fanuc and is used to hold a flat-panel video monitor in an interactive show. Tool changers are designed to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of robots by allowing one robot to quickly switch between a number of end-effectors, or tools.
ATI Account Manager Greg Martin, who helped coordinate ATI's contribution, said, "When we were approached to participate in this new exhibit, we felt that it was a great opportunity to help educate people, both young and old, in regards to robotics. Most people aren't aware of the wide use of robotics and automation to produce the things we use every day. The ATI Quick-Change is a valuable tool in expanding the flexibility of robotic workcells."
Innovation Station at OMSI opens November 11th, 2004.
