F/T Robotic Applications Engineer
Location: Apex, NC     

Job Description
  • The Robotic Application Engineer (RAE) is responsible for the integration of ATI Force/Torque Sensor (F/T) products in robotic applications and across all major robot manufacturers. They are expected to become the industry expert on the use and integration of ATI F/T sensors in conjunction with existing industrial robots. The RAE will develop documentation, training videos, sample applications and develop software to ease the implementation of ATI F/T Sensors. The RAE will also be responsible for traveling to customer sites to assist in integration and troubleshooting of ATI F/T Sensors.
  • Design experiments and program robots to aid in demonstrating and testing of F/T Sensors.
  • Develop manufacturer specific software and programs (variety of text based programming languages)
  • Develop estimating and reporting processes for in-house testing of customer applications.
  • Write installation manuals and training presentations.
  • Administer F/T integration training to ATI employees and customers.
  • Identify product improvements, new product ideas and report these to engineering
  • Assist in development of marketing material and trade show demonstrations.
  • Work with Marketing to develop product, setup and integration videos.
  • Validate product changes by examining engineering changes and new product releases.
  • Take direction and perform job duties as requested by Product Manager.
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows, and the internet.
  • Travel for training and customer visits up to 30% domestic and international.

    Skills Requirements
  • Ability to analyze technical problems/issues and effectively articulate verbal and written recommendations and solutions.
  • Ability to learn and implement a variety of programming languages (basic to intermediate level) needed to work with robot manufacturer’s software (i.e. Structured Text, C++, java, python).
  • Ability to present technical information to various audiences, often in a group setting.
  • Basic knowledge of Electro-mechanical Systems including statics, analog-to-digital conversion and communication protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and personal time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with 6-axis robot programming and robotic applications is required

  • B.S Degree in Engineering
