New ATI Products and Solutions at the Fabtech 2011 Show

ATI Contributes to American Welding Society Patron's Fund

Apex, NC,  September 19, 2011

ATI Industrial Automation will be exhibiting at the upcoming Fabtech 2011 show on November 14-17, 2011, in Chicago, IL at McCormick Place, North Hall, Booth #5309. Fabtech is North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event with over 1,200 exhibiting companies covering 410,000 square feet of floor space.

ATI will be displaying several live demonstrations that feature Robotic Tool Changers, Robotic Collision Sensors, and Utility Couplers, including a robot from Yaskawa/Motoman that utilizes Tool Changers to automatically switch different types of welding torches. ATI will also have all of their latest advances in robotic end-effectors and automation tooling on display including:

  • Hollow-Wrist Tool Changers: Allows the routing of pneumatics and electrical signals through its center. Provides direct compatibility with many of the industry's hollow-wrist robots.
  • Utility Couplers: For quickly connecting utilities such as air, fluid, power, and electrical signals in docking and fixturing applications.
  • Through-Hole Tool Changers: For passage of laser, rotating spindle, pressurized shielding gas, and other non-traditional applications through the center of the Tool Changer.
  • QC-1210 Heavy-Automation Tool Changer: Developed for robots that can handle extremely heavy payloads up to 1350 kg (2980 lb).

ATI recently contributed to the AWS Detroit Section Patron's fund that was created to sponsor students pursuing a career in welding engineering and welding technology. A co-organizer of the Fabtech 2011 show, the American Welding Society (AWS) was founded as a nonprofit organization with a goal to advance the science, technology and application of welding and related joining disciplines. Catherine Morris, Senior Account Manager for ATI states "ATI is very proud to be part of the very strong Detroit Chapter of the American Welding Society. We have been happy to give of our time to assist with their commitment to providing scholarships to deserving students to advance the art and science of welding." Tom Slawnyk, Account Manager for ATI continues his appointment as the Social Activities Chairman for the AWS Detroit Section Executive Committee.
