ATI Exhibiting at the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show June 9-11

ATI Speaking at the Show Conference on Thursday, June 11

Apex, NC,  April 27, 2009

ATI Industrial Automation will be exhibiting at the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show, June 9-11, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. ATI will be featuring some of their newest products, including:

  • QC-1210 Heavy Automation Robotic Tool Changer The QC-1210 was developed for robots that can handle up to 1200 kg loads and features three of ATI's patented Fail-Safe locking mechanisms. The new Tool Changer can mount up to six utility modules using a common mounting pattern.

  • Net F/T Force/Torque Sensor System The Net F/T System measures six components of force and torque (Fx, Fy, Fz, Tx, Ty, Tz), provides an EtherNet/IP™ and CAN bus communication interface, and is compatible with standard Ethernet.

  • Manual Tool Changers ATI's Manual Tool Changers provide a cost-effective solution for quickly changing tools by hand. Featuring a small light-weight design around ATI's patented Fail-Safe locking mechanism, these Manual Tool Changers can handle payloads up to 100 pounds (45.4 kg) and pass pneumatics and electrical signals.

At Booth # 1841, ATI will also have all of their newest end-effector products on display, including Robotic Tool Changers, Multi-axis Force/Torque Sensors, Robotic Deburring and Finishing Tools, Robotic Collision Sensors, Rotary Joints, and Compliance Devices.

ATI will give a presentation during the show conference on Thursday, June 11 - 10:15am to 12:15pm. A panel of speakers, including Michael Coyle and Bethany Duncan from ATI, Dan Peretz from IPR Automation, and Bill Pabst from Schmalz will discuss advances in robotics accessory technology. The robot arm is only part of your robotic solution. End-of-arm tooling, industrial fieldbus systems, simulation, and software are among the issues critical to the success of your robotic system.

ATI's presentation, titled "Industrial Fieldbus Systems - Industry Trends and Their Application on Tool Changers," will cover the latest advances in utilizing Bus Network technology in a robotic tool changing environment. An overview of the common fieldbuses available will be given with emphasis on their applicability in a robotic tool changing environment. Challenges in integrating bus systems with Tool Changers will be discussed and solutions offered. Bus system control will be contrasted with older technology and advantages/disadvantages pointed out. Maintenance and troubleshooting issues will be covered from a "lessons learned" point of view.

For those in attendance, ATI will host a Hospitality Wine and Cheese Event in their booth #1841 on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Don't miss this opportunity to meet and mix with some of the leaders in the industry. Contact ATI or stop by their booth to pick-up your invitation.
