F/T Application Support Specialist
Location: Apex, NC
Job Description

In our continued quest for excellence in our products and service, we are seeking an experienced, hardworking, team-oriented F/T Applications Support Specialist. The F/T Applications Support Specialist is the technical voice to the customers and application support before and after sale of the ATI Force/Torque Sensor products. The F/T Applications Support Specialist evaluates customer applications and makes recommendations for product use, model, and option selection and assists customers with technical questions and problems. This role offers technical assistance to the sales department in the generation of new sales. The support specialist works with the sales administration to resolve non-technical sales problems. The technical support specialist works with Applications and Product Engineers to recommend future product improvements and support ATI F/T Customers.
- Assist customers with questions, troubleshooting, additional product details, etc.
- Coordinate with Applications Engineers, Manufacturing, Quality and Product Engineering as needed for additional technical support and RMA administration.
- Write white papers and support manual creation and update to aid customers using F/T Products
- Have a fundamental understanding and capability in robot programming, PLC programming and software packages used by F/T customer to provide support for integration of ATI sensors.
- Identify improvements and new product ideas and report these to engineering and manufacturing
- Provide training (application, product, service, etc.) for sales and engineering
- Support Sales in training activities with our customers
- Seek out training to improve customer service and repairs. Stay on top of all product changes by examining engineering changes and new product releases.
- Take direction and perform job duties as requested by Product Manager/Supervisor
- Be able to travel to support sales activities, trade shows and customer support up to 25% travel
Skills Requirements
- Strong electro-mechanical system understanding and software programming capability
- Ability to analyze technical problems/issues and effectively articulate verbal and written recommendations and solutions.
- Ability to present technical information to various audiences, often in a group setting
- Ability to quickly learn the organization’s product line, as well as, any software and hardware used by customers
- Develop a fundamental understanding of product design to quickly evaluate feasibility of customer applications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written),organizational and time management skills
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Engineering/Applied Engineering (Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Automation or Robotics) with 2+ years applicable work experience
