FT Sales Account Manager
Location: Apex, NC
Job Description
- The Sales Account Manager develops and leads the partnering relationship with customers to ensure the long-term, sustainable delivery of high-value solutions and services. As the gatekeeper of high customer-focused offerings, the account manager is responsible for maintaining, strengthening, and broadening existing account relationships, as well as developing new accounts and primary key player relationships. The account manager will liaise among direct customer contacts; end-user customer contacts, whenever possible; and the ATI sales, engineering, and operations functions to optimize customer product and service deliveries.
- The account manager is not only responsible for managing the portfolio of existing accounts; but also growing new customers and long term account relationships.
- Major Responsibilities
- Acts as an independent, individual contributor to facilitate the discovery, diagnosis, and design, and deliveries of high-value customer products and services
- Operates as program leader for all new and assigned accounts
- Develops, maintains and strengthens sustainable customer relationships
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
- Acts as customer’s representative to internally communicate the needs and expectations of the customer
- Communicates frequently and clearly the progress of client engagements and program initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders
- Forecasts sales for existing and new accounts, including tracking defined key account metrics
- Identifies and grows opportunities within sales territory and collaborate within the sales teams to ensure growth attainment
- Manages all account communications and interactions using internal CRM database, verifies quotations and sales order accuracy
- Assists with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed
- Accountable for post sales, customer service support
Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of ATI and the customers’ organizations
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Experienced in delivering company solutions that align with explicit customer needs
- Proven ability to work independently with high organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
- Effective negotiations and meeting facilitation skills
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communications skills
- Effective prospecting skills from cold calling to lead management follow-up
- Has experience in uncovering, diagnosing, and designing technical solutions consistent with customer needs.
- Ability to travel 30%- 50% domestically (North America) and occasional international travel when appropriate.
Education Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience selling technical products within industrial automation and manufacturing markets (e.g. automotive, aerospace, packaging, electronic assembly, etc.).
- BA/BS degree preferred or relevant experience in technical sales
