Mechanical Engineer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Design and modify robotic end effectors and tools.
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems involving product performance.
  • Test prototypes and released products to verify design to customer specifications and write reports to document the testing.
  • Support existing products through an ongoing process of continuous improvements and engineering changes to enhance performance and manufacturability.
  • Determine and establish specifications and standards and write manuals, manufacturing and inspection instructions, specification sheets and technical reports for new and existing products.
  • As a Project Leader you will coordinate all phases of development including creation, prototypes, testing and analysis.
  • Perform a variety of engineering tasks in the planning and design of electro-mechanical products, electrical enclosures and cable assemblies. Determine and establish specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Use appropriate engineering tools such as, CAD, FMEA, DFA, in the successful completion of design projects.
  • Communication and project management skills to meet project goals.
  • Work with suppliers to assure the most cost effective, robust designs are implemented.
  • Provide support to customers including travel to customer’s facilities if required.

    Skills Requirements
  • Innovative mechanical design skills (design understanding of pneumatic devices, fasteners, seals, material selection, bearings, lock mechanisms, etc.).
  • Demonstrated SolidWorks solid modeling and detail/assembly drawing proficiency.
  • Solid history designing mechanical components for automation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Y14.5 – 2009 Standards.
  • Ability to generate mechanical fabrication drawings including orthographic projections.
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Visio).

    Education Requirements
  • A BS degree in mechanical engineering plus 3-5 years work experience in a related field is required. Direct experience integrating designs into industrial robotics applications is a plus.

Quality Engineer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Address customer and internal quality issues through sound problem solving techniques (8D, A3, etc.) and corrective action.
  • Recommend action for improvement based on quality risk assessment of products and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Design Group to provide input for preventing potential quality risk.
  • Create quality plans for new product introductions.
  • Track and analyze incoming, in-process and final inspection data for trends in order to facilitate improvement action.
  • Participate in and facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as Kaizen events and defect reduction efforts.
  • Assess and recommend quality equipment to meet current and future needs.
  • Assist in assuring ATI’s compliance to regulatory requirements (CE, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc.)
  • Assist ATI in assuring its compliance to ISO9001 standards.

    Skills Requirements
  • Technical problem solving and decision making skills on electro-mechanical systems
  • A working knowledge of ISO9001 standards.
  • A working knowledge of 8D problem solving methodology.
  • Proven ability to work independently with high organizational and project management skills
  • Strong computer and keyboard skills, with focus on data management, data analysis, and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and obtain an intermediate working knowledge level of technical products and operating processes; such as, ATI products and their applications.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills

    Education Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline except software from an accredited institution, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment.

Software Developer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Analyze, design, develop, deploy, and maintain software applications, including web applications, internal business applications, databases, product software, and calibration & test software. Work independently, individually as Project Leader, or with other developers and support personnel to complete your projects. Communicate with managers, Manufacturing and Sales staff concerning projects.
  • Resolve software compatibility issues dealing with system architecture and user expectations.
  • Maintain, support, and customize corporate MIS software used in the on-going business and operations.
  • Write Wiki entries, KnowledgeBase articles, help files, specification sheets, installation instructions, and technical reports for new and existing applications.
  • Design innovative, robust and manageable software using the appropriate tools and resources for the successful completion of software projects.
  • Thoroughly test and debug applications to verify functionality to end user specifications , documenting the testing process as required
  • Work with software vendors, consultants and the Microsoft Developers Network to assure the most cost effective, robust solutions are implemented.
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows, and appropriate use of the internet, and participate in the training of other members of the Information Systems group in these skills.
  • Provide support and assistance to coworkers as appropriate to enhance the performance and success of the Information Systems department and the company as a whole.
  • Communicate with customers and/or staff to determine all the technical specifications for a project. Continue customer interface as required during the design, production, implementation and troubleshooting of the software, including on-going technical support as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills Requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  • Programming knowledge in the following: VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Ability to follow up, multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to quickly acquire and utilize new business knowledge and technical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Education Requirements
  • Associate degree or BS is required
