F/T Robotic Application Engineer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Design experiments and program robots to aid in demonstrating and testing of F/T Sensors
  • Develop manufacturer specific software and programs (variety of text based programming languages)
  • Develop estimating and reporting processes for in-house testing of customer applications
  • Write installation manuals and training presentations
  • Administer F/T integration training to ATI employees and customers
  • Identify product improvements, new product ideas and report these to engineering
  • Assist in development of marketing material and trade show demonstrations
  • Work with Marketing to develop product, setup and integration videos
  • Validate product changes by examining engineering changes and new product releases
  • Take direction and perform job duties as requested by Product Manager
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows, and the internet
  • Travel for training and customer visits up to 30% domestic and international

    Skills Requirements
  • Ability to analyze technical problems/issues and effectively articulate verbal and written recommendations and solutions
  • Ability to learn and implement a variety of programming languages (basic to intermediate level) needed to work with robot manufacturer’s software (i.e. Structured Text, C++, java, python)
  • Ability to present technical information to various audiences, often in a group setting
  • Basic knowledge of Electro-mechanical Systems including statics, analog-to-digital conversion and communication protocols
  • Excellent organizational and personal time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with 6-axis robot programming and robotic applications is required

Mechanical Engineer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Design and modify robotic end effectors and tools.
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems involving product performance
  • Test prototypes and released products to verify design to customer specifications and write reports to document the testing.
  • Support existing products through an ongoing process of continuous improvements and engineering changes to enhance performance and manufacturability.
  • Determine and establish specifications and standards and write manuals, manufacturing and inspection instructions, specification sheets and technical reports for new and existing products.
  • As a Project Leader you will coordinate all phases of development including creation, prototypes, testing and analysis.
  • Perform a variety of engineering tasks in the planning and design of electro-mechanical products, electrical enclosures and cable assemblies. Determine and establish specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Use appropriate engineering tools such as, CAD, FMEA, DFA, in the successful completion of design projects.
  • Communication and project management skills to meet project goals.
  • Work with suppliers to assure the most cost effective, robust designs are implemented.
  • Provide support to customers including travel to customer’s facilities if required.

    Skills Requirements
  • Innovative mechanical design skills (design understanding of pneumatic devices, fasteners, seals, material selection, bearings, lock mechanisms, etc.).
  • Demonstrated SolidWorks solid modeling and detail/assembly drawing proficiency.
  • Solid history designing mechanical components for automation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Y14.5 – 2009 Standards.
  • Ability to generate mechanical fabrication drawings including orthographic projections.
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Visio).

    Education Requirements
  • A BS degree in mechanical engineering plus five (5) to ten (10) years work experience in a related field is required. Direct experience integrating designs into industrial robotics applications is a plus.

Robotic Test Engineer
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Design experiments and program robots to aid in demonstrating and testing MR product
  • Design test fixtures and equipment using SolidWorks
  • Develop estimating and reporting processes for in-house testing of customer-supplied parts
  • Write reports and create presentations of findings for communication to customer
  • Identify improvements and new product ideas and report these to engineering and manufacturing
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering as needed for additional technical support
  • Stay on top of all product changes by examining engineering changes and new product releases
  • Take direction and perform job duties as requested by Product Manager
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows, and the internet

    Skills Requirements
  • Ability to analyze technical problems/issues and effectively articulate verbal and written recommendations and solutions
  • Ability to present technical information to various audiences, often in a group setting
  • Knowledge of mechanical design to include design understanding of pneumatic devices, fasteners, seals, strength of materials, bearings, locking mechanisms, etc.

  • Experience with 6-axis robot programming and robotic applications is required

    Education Requirements
  • Bachelors level degree or equivalent experience in mechatronics, mechanical engineering or robotic engineering

Sales Account Manager
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Acts as an independent, individual contributor to facilitate the discovery, diagnosis, and design, and deliveries of high-value customer products and services
  • Operates as program leader for all new and assigned accounts
  • Develops, maintains and strengthens sustainable customer relationships
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Acts as customer’s representative to internally communicate the needs and expectations of the customer
  • Communicates frequently and clearly the progress of client engagements and program initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecasts sales for existing and new accounts, including tracking defined key account metrics
  • Identifies and grows opportunities within sales territory and collaborate within the sales teams to ensure growth attainment
  • Manages all account communications and interactions using internal CRM database, verifies quotations and sales order accuracy
  • Assists with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Accountable for post sales, customer service support

    Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of ATI and the customers’ organizations
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Experienced in delivering company solutions that align with explicit customer needs
  • Proven ability to work independently with high organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Effective negotiations and meeting facilitation skills

Technical Documentation Supervisor
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Lead the Technical Documentation Group, which is responsible for the creation of technical manuals, training materials, web site management, configured manuals, BOMs for configured QC models, engineering presentations, drawing requests and 3D parts stream models
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach (Lean principals) to all the activities, processes, and output under your direction: technical manuals, manual translation, training materials, web page development, drawing requests, 3D part stream, etc
  • Support new product development for creation of manuals, manual translation, training materials, web page development, drawing requests, and 3D parts stream models through the electronic project system. Support continuing product improvements for updating of manuals, web pages, and 3D parts stream models through the electronic ECO system
  • Continue to learn new skills, technologies, and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows or appropriate use of the internet. Participate in the training of other members of your team in these skills
  • Supervise the entire group in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Coordinate activities of your direct reports, analyzing workflow, evaluating priorities, and determining resource needs. Provide direction and guidance in career development for each individual in your group career development through individual’s strengths
  • Research drawings, specifications, CAD models and product samples to create illustrated product overview, installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures. Verify all documentation with project leaders, engineering, sales, and applications personnel
  • Bring a uniform tone to all company communications and policies so that there is a consistent voice throughout different types of user documentation including manuals, how-to guides, quick references, customer training, and presentations
  • Write and organize technical information to be translated into multiple languages
  • Managing technical information to minimize the effort sent to external translation services
  • Provide direction for documentation standards such as style, terminology, content, clarity, and conciseness
  • Develop InDesign templates with standard table, paragraph, character, graphic, and object styles
  • Create training materials to support new employee orientation, training and development
  • Review manual and web pages to ensure accuracy, consistency, and conformity to standards
  • Provide support and assistance to coworkers as appropriate to enhance the performance and success of the engineering department and the company as a whole
  • Other duties as assigned

    Skills Requirements
  • Have 3 or more years of experience in managing a technical writing department
  • 10 or more years of experience writing technical documents similar to ATI manuals, training presentations, Engineering Forms, and Engineering Instructions
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suit or equivalent is required
  • Foreign language proficiency is desirable

Technical Writer II
Location:  Apex, NC

     Job Description
  • Write technical manuals (user manuals, training manuals, technical reports for customer reference, or publications.) for ATI products with input from the project leaders.
  • Analyze technical descriptions, write descriptive copy, and verify documentation with engineering, sales, and applications personnel.
  • Experience writing and organizing technical information to be translated into multiple languages. Managing technical information to minimize the effort sent to external translation services.
  • Bring a uniform tone to all company communications and policies so that there is a consistent voice throughout. The technical writer will create many different types of user documentation (manuals, how-to guides, quick references, customer training, and presentations).
  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers.
  • Make and select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
  • Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
  • Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
  • Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows and appropriate use of the internet and participate in the training of other members of the engineering team in these skills.
  • Provide support and assistance to coworkers as appropriate to enhance the performance and success of the engineering department and the company as a whole.
  • Develop standards, templates, procedures, and create training materials to support new employee orientation, training and development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills Requirements
  • 5 - 7 years of experience writing technical documents similar to ATI manuals, training presentations, Engineering Forms, and Engineering Instructions.
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suit or equivalent is required.
  • Foreign language proficiency is desirable.
