ATI Develops New Tool Changer for Robotic Medical Treatment System
ATI Industrial Automation worked closely with Accuray, Inc. to develop a highly custom, compact Tool Changer that passes a radiation beam through its center, while maintaining sub-millimeter accuracy and repeatability. Accuray Incorporated developed the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System, the world’s first and only robotic radiosurgery system designed to treat tumors anywhere in the body with sub-millimeter accuracy. New ATI Force/Torque Sensor System Increases
Compatibility with Robots
Many robot companies such as ABB and KUKA are offering force control packages with ATI Force/Torque Sensors integrated into the robot. Forces and torques are measured by the sensor at the wrist of the robot giving it a sense of touch. Heavy Automation Robotic Tool Changer
ATI's QC-1210, the world's strongest Robotic Tool Changer, was recently featured on Chicago's WGN-TV. Filmed during the 2009 International Robots, Vision and Motion Control show, ATI's QC-1210 Heavy Automation Robotic Tool Changer is mounted to the wrist of a FANUC M-2000 robot, one of the world's largest and strongest six-axis robots.
